tornado and a pop-up

a few weeks back we went on our 2nd big camping trip

we pulled into solon just as the tornado sirens were sounding

what do you do when your pulling a pop-up...

well, we kept driving

the storm passed and i held an umbrella over sam while he "popped-up" the pop-up

had our usual saturday morning donuts and cartoons

and spent the rest of the day at the beach

sam and i thought it would be fun to rent a couple boats 

and check out the lake

we thought for sure the kids would love it

well, they didn't

we finished the boat ride 20 minutes early

but not before the dnr informed us of the large fine we could get if the kids continued to swim off the side of the boat

 nice

we spent the rest of the day and the 

next morning at the beach

 and headed home exhausted and sun-burnt (well, only i was)

softball season was here and gone...

i love softball season

and i always enjoy the 5 weeks of games

but i'm never sad for it to be over

the girls were on 2 different teams this year

which meant both girls had games 2 nights a week

so, some weeks we were on the go 4 nights

i'm not a "on the go" 4 nights a week kinda gal

however, i do love summer softball

so...i tolerate it

sam coached lia's team again

and sofie played for the first time since t-ball

it had been 3 years since she played

...but, she caught on quick

my little lefty even tried her hand at pitching

 

and at catching

and every other position she could

said she wanted to find the "right' position for her

she played hard and didn't like it when they lost

she had a big cheering section with 

my grandparents and 

sam's parents coming to almost every game

it stayed cool til the last few games

next year they will be on the same team

and kye will be playing t-ball

that will be interesting!!!
