spa night with sofie
a couple months ago i talked about how i was reading this book, 8 great dates for mom's and daughters and how sofie and i were doing these dates.
well, this was date #2.
we used my in-laws house for her very first facial.
we started out with a little pedicure
and cucumber water
my friend nikki, who is a mary kay consultant came over to teach sofie about skin care and do the facial
in the book it had a recipe for an oatmeal peach face mask.
so, we tried it. pretty sure i didn't make it right.
but it was still fun
the focus of the night was on her unique physical features and how God created her perfectly and wonderfully unlike any other person.
nikki was so awesome at teaching her the proper way to wash
and just care for her face
at the end she got her first set of face wash and moisturizer.
and a fun lemon/lime lip gloss
date nights are so special.

this and that
last weekend we marched in the iwc homecoming parade
it was so very cold
like winter coat cold
the kids didn't mind at all--
there was candy involved
smoke and jaz are great!
we love, love, love them!
they meow back and forth to each other in different tones
and cuddle on top of each other all day long
except when they are chasing each other and playing
school is going.
just finished week 7. it has been our best week yet.
the first 4 or 5 were rough.
really rough.
we'll get through it though!
the girls are still loving our history, science and art.
bible is my favorite.
and who knew i'd be learning my states and capitols at age 34?!
good times...most of the time.
branson
a couple weeks ago the kids and i tagged along
with sam on a trip to branson.
he was attending the national christian counselors conference.
we were going for the hotel, eating out and sights
electronics are quickly becoming our traveling best friends.
i-pad, i-pod, dvd and texting cell phones
made our 7 1/2 hour trip a piece of cake.
best car ride we've ever had!
the kids and i swam for a few hours each day
we also spent a lot of hours glued to our new favorite tv channel
--animal planet---
who knew the turtle man was so awesome!
and my favorite thing about staying in hotels--
eating in bed!!!
skeleton family
i found this fun craft in this months family fun magazine.
it looked so simple and i had
all the supplies on hand.
q-tips, cotton balls, hot glue gun
the girls and i absolutely love our hot glue gun
best. thing. ever.
kye was totally into it, he even made 2.
i so enjoy watching him do crafts.
he is also so focused and works hard to do his best.
here we are--
hanging in the dining room window
sofie (with the yellow yarn hair of course)
then lia and kye
and here's sam and i
another birthday
a few weeks ago we celebrated sam!!
